A dead dryer or a fridge that won’t cool doesn’t wait for a convenient time. Rath Appliance Services inspects, diagnoses, and repairs residential washers, dryers, refrigerators, ranges, ovens , ice makers and dishwashers across the Upstate. With more than a decade of hands-on experience, we find the cause first, then give you a written quote before any work begins. Parts and labor are explained in plain language, and every repair is backed by a 30 day warranty. Call, text, or email to schedule your visit.
The Trip and Diagnostics fee covers your service visit, a full diagnosis of the problem, a written report and repair quote, and it’s credited toward your repair if you approve the work.
The appliance inspection covers a complete multi-point inspection of one appliance, including testing of its major functions and safety components, a detailed condition report and a clear summary of any repairs recommended. This service is not credited toward any repairs.
Ice makers aren’t all cleaned the same way. Depending on the brand and model, the manufacturer’s procedure can be a simple cleaning cycle with a partial disassembly or a complete tear-down. We follow the manufacturer’s method for your unit, using approved cleaners, and email you a service report when we’re done. Pricing ranges from $150 to $325 depending on the brand, model and condition of your ice maker. Send us your model number and a picture of your ice maker, and we’ll send you a free quote.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Raths Appliance Services
Effective date: [Month Day, Year]
These Terms apply to all service we provide. In these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" mean Raths Appliance Services, a sole proprietorship owned by [Owner's Full Name]. "You" means the person or company that books or authorizes the service. By booking service or allowing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms.
1. SERVICES
We diagnose and repair household appliances at your property, including washers, dryers, refrigerators, undercounter ice makers, dishwashers, stoves, and microwaves.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not provide:
- Installation of new appliances
- Gas line, electrical wiring or panel, plumbing, or HVAC work beyond the appliance's own connection
- Repairs to appliances that are unsafe to service or not reasonably repairable
If we find a problem outside what we do, we will tell you, and you may need to hire a licensed professional.
2. WHO BOOKS, WHO PAYS, AND YOUR POINT OF CONTACT
- The person or company who books the service is responsible for payment unless we agree in writing that someone else (an owner, landlord, property manager, or warranty company) will pay.
- Every job needs one point of contact who is reachable during our visit, can approve quotes, and is available for questions, follow-ups, and payment.
- For a rental, vacant, or listed property, the person booking must give us the point of contact's name and phone number before the visit and confirm they have authority to approve work and pay.
- If we cannot reach a point of contact, we may be unable to do the work, and the trip and diagnostic fee may apply.
3. TRIP AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE
- Our trip and diagnostic fee is $97.50.
- It covers travel to your property and the time to inspect and diagnose the problem.
- If you approve the repair within 10 calendar days of your quote, the fee is credited toward the repair price. After 10 calendar days, the fee is not credited and the repair is priced at its full cost.
- The fee is due on the day of the visit, even if you want to wait before committing to a repair, decline the repair, or the appliance cannot be repaired.
4. QUOTES AND APPROVAL
- After diagnosis, we give you a quote for the repair, with labor and parts shown separately. We may give it in person, by text, or by email.
- We do not begin a repair until you or your point of contact approves the quote.
- Quotes are good for 10 calendar days from the date we give them. Parts prices and availability can change.
- If we find another problem after starting work, we stop and tell you before doing more work or charging more.
- A quote is based on what we can see at the time of the visit. Hidden damage can change the final price, and you will be asked to approve any change.
5. DEPOSIT WHEN PARTS MUST BE ORDERED
- If your repair needs a return visit because parts must be ordered, or you want to wait before committing to a repair, we require a deposit of at least 50% of the total out-the-door repair price (parts, labor, and sales tax) before we order the parts or hold the repair for you.
- If you approve the repair within 10 calendar days of your quote, the trip and diagnostic fee already paid is credited toward the total.
- The deposit is applied to your final invoice. The balance is due when the repair is complete.
- If you cancel after we have ordered parts, your deposit is refunded minus the cost of any parts we cannot return and any restocking fees.
6. PAYMENT
- Payment is due in full on site, before we leave, when the work is complete.
- We accept cash, card, or check. Make checks payable to Raths Appliance Services.
- Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor.
- Parts and labor are listed separately on your invoice. Sales tax is charged on parts as required by South Carolina law.
- A check returned unpaid is subject to a $30 service charge, which is the most South Carolina law allows, plus any amount you owe.
- If we have a written agreement with you (for example, a property management or home warranty agreement), its payment terms apply instead.
7. REPAIR WARRANTY
- 45 days from the date of service, on the labor and on the parts we supply and install.
- What it covers: If the same problem we repaired returns within 45 days, we will re-inspect it and fix it at no charge for labor or the covered part.
- After 45 days: A part we installed may still be covered by the part manufacturer's warranty. Labor to replace it after the 45 days is billed at our regular rate.
- What it does not cover:
- A different or new problem with the appliance, even in the same area
- Damage from misuse, accidents, power surges, flooding, pests, or lack of maintenance
- Parts or materials you or someone else supplied
- Repairs or changes made by anyone else after our visit
- Food loss, loss of use, or cosmetic damage
- Repairs we have not been paid for in full
- This warranty covers only the repair we performed, not the appliance itself.
- To make a claim, contact us as soon as the problem returns.
8. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make sure an adult (18 or older) or your point of contact is available during the visit, unless we agreed in writing that we may enter without you.
- Make the appliance accessible and clear the area around it.
- Secure pets and tell us about any safety concerns, such as mold or pests.
- Remove food, medication, or valuables from the appliance.
- We may decline or stop work if conditions are unsafe. The trip and diagnostic fee may still apply.
9. SCHEDULING AND CANCELLATION
- We give you an arrival window when you book, and we call or text if we are running late.
- Please give us at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel. There is no fee for rescheduling or canceling.
- If we arrive and no one is available, we cannot get access, or you decline the visit once we arrive, the $97.50 trip and diagnostic fee applies.
- We are not responsible for delays outside our control, such as weather, illness, or parts shipping delays.
10. HOURS AND COMMUNICATION
- Our business hours are 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.
- We answer calls, texts, and emails during business hours. Messages left after hours are answered the next business day.
- We do not offer after-hours or emergency service.
- By giving us your mobile number when you book, you agree that we may text you about your service, including appointment confirmations, arrival times, quotes, invoices, and warranty follow-ups. You can expect up to 15 messages per month, plus replies to your own texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying our services, and we do not send marketing texts. See our Privacy Policy for details.
11. LIMITS OF LIABILITY
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service that caused the claim.
- We are not responsible for:
- Damage that existed before we arrived, or that comes from normal wear, age, or failure of other parts
- Loss of food, medication, or other items inside an appliance
- Indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income, extra living or storage costs, or loss of use
- Problems caused by incorrect or incomplete information, or by work someone else did
- We are not responsible for the condition of existing wiring, plumbing, gas lines, vents, or the structure of your property.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under South Carolina or federal law.
12. DISPUTES
If you are unhappy with our work, please contact us first and give us a reasonable chance to inspect and correct it. These Terms are governed by South Carolina law. Any dispute not resolved informally will be handled in the courts of Greenville County, South Carolina.
13. PHOTOS AND RECORDS
We may take photos of the appliance, serial plates, and the repair for our records and warranty. We do not post photos of your home or identify you publicly without your permission.
14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms. The version in effect on the day you book applies to that job.
